ITS-Turismo Puglia
The “Thesaurus” is a branch of the Knowledgeware© platform, i.e. the environment for storing the cognitive heritage of the “ITS Regionale della Puglia Foundation for the Hospitality Industry and Enlarged Tourism” Foundation (“ITST Foundation”).
The Thesaurus is a documentary repository in which, among other things, the teaching documentation of each higher technical education course is collected, in order to implement the scientific repertoires and the know-how to support the teaching activities of teachers, experts and students.
The documents contained in the Thesaurus are generally classified on the basis of four elements: the course, the academic years, the training units and finally the teachers of the same, giving rise to a tree structure in which the branches are the various categories/subcategories and the leaves are the final documents.
The Thesaurus is equipped with a normalized vocabulary to aid in the search and retrieval phases of documents. This vocabulary therefore allows documents to be searched based on general categories or by means of keywords (or descriptors). With respect to each document it is possible to search using one or more words by acting on:
title of the document
summary introduction of the document (abstract)
Information and communication technologies.
textual content of the document.

In relation to documents, there may be additional classification attributes.
These attributes are made up of the so-called "tags" (classification labels) which, if present, are shown in the information screen of the selected document. In other words, tags allow you to trace a document through words not directly present in the documents but which help to identify them.
For operational details on the different search methods, which are very easy and intuitive to use, it is still a good idea to consult the Help page which can be reached from the main menu of the Thesaurus access platform.
